Naturally, the internet has been buzzing with excitement over this adorable little creature, and people are speculating about its identity.

Just yesterday, The Pokemon Company took to Twitter to provide some clarification. Their official statement about the new pocket monster:

“A newly discovered Pokémon appears in The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero for Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet!

Its splendid aura is reminiscent of the Legendary Pokémon Terapagos, but this Pokémon’s name and true nature are shrouded in mystery.”

So our new Pokemon resembles Terapagos and will make its official game debut in The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero coming to Pokemon Scarlet + Violet this winter.

Enthusiastic Pokemon trainers will easily recognize this as a pre-evolved version of the legendary Pokemon Terapagos, which will appear in the Indigo Disk of the upcoming DLC.
