This Month, Pokemon Stadium is Arriving on Switch Online

Trainers and gym leaders rejoice as it’s now official that Pokemon Stadium is coming to the Nintendo Switch Online service on April 12th.

The Nintendo 64 home console was added to the Nintendo Switch Online service in October of 2021. But Pokemon was sorely missed at launch.

We did eventually get Pokemon Snap and Pokemon Puzzle League added to the roster.

But it’s Pokemon Stadium that had the fans sending in letters to Nintendo saying “what the heck, man? You know what we really want.” Thankfully, they heard those requests.

In one week Pokemon Stadium (one of the ) will make its anticipated debut on the Nintendo Switch.

Pokemon Stadium

Pokemon Stadium is one of the most popular games to release on the Nintendo 64, selling over 5.4 million copies worldwide.

Actually, it made an appearance on our list of the .

And perhaps what made it so exciting was that it was the first time we could battle our favorite pocket monsters on the “big screen”.

All 151 Pokemon from the original Game Boy titles (Pokémon Red, Pokémon Blue, Pokémon Yellow) all made an appearance. Now in full 3d glory.

And the game even came with a special transfer pack that allowed you to put one of the Game Boy titles in your controller to trade Pokemon.

Where the game lacked in a story mode, it more than made up for in sheer competition. It’s all about the battles.

It also came jam packed with a bunch of really fun minigames as well. Which is a lot of people’s favorite part of Pokemon Stadium (including mine!).

We can now enjoy Pokemon Stadium on our Nintendo Switch… whether you play on the go or at home on your television.

So get your online accounts in order and clear your schedule – You’ve got some training to do.
